One of the greatest privileges of the Grow for Gold program is watching our athletes take the opportunities you’ve helped create and turn them into incredible performances on the world stage.

Over the past month, our athletes have been competing across Europe, North America, South Africa and Australia, proving that the Gold Coast is producing some of the country’s brightest Olympic and Paralympic talent.

Every podium finish, international debut and national team selection is a reminder that your support is making a genuine difference.

Natalia has enjoyed an outstanding Canoe Sprint World Cup campaign, finishing the three-event series with an incredible medal haul.

Gold – Hungary (K1 500m)
Silver – Germany (K2 500m)
Bronze – Canada (K1 500m)

Natalia now heads to Poland to represent Australia at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships alongside fellow Grow for Gold athlete Maguire Reid.

Maguire continues to build an impressive international résumé, recently claiming silver in the U23 Men’s K1 1000m at the World Championships, an outstanding achievement that showcased his ability to compete with the very best young paddlers in the world.

He now joins Natalia on the Australian team heading to Poland, where both athletes will compete against the world’s best next month.

Aspen continues to impress throughout Europe, claiming bronze at the Europe Triathlon Cup in Austria before making her World Triathlon Championship Series debut in Hamburg.

Isla is currently competing in South Africa, continuing to gain valuable international experience while taking on some of the world’s best surfers.

Every event is another opportunity to develop, learn and move one step closer to achieving her Olympic dream.

After returning from injury, Thewbelle couldn’t have asked for a better comeback.

She burst out of the blocks to claim first place in her first race back, providing the perfect confidence boost heading into the remainder of the season.

Ashley recently completed the 10km event at the Gold Coast Marathon, continuing to build her fitness and endurance as part of her preparation for future international competition.

Amelie has relocated to Europe for the remainder of the year, where she’ll compete across a range of elite cycling events against some of the strongest fields in the world.

The experience she’ll gain will be invaluable as she continues progressing through the Australian cycling pathway.

Seth is now in the final stages of preparation after earning selection to represent Australia at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Oregon, USA.

Having recently attended the Australian U20 pre-camp, Seth is preparing for one of the biggest opportunities of his young athletics career.

Not every milestone comes with a medal. Some of the most important work happens long before competition day.

Xavier Gilbee, Maddie Kelton and Sarah Nicki are currently in full training mode as they prepare for the busiest period of their competition calendars. Every session, every rep and every hour of preparation is laying the foundation for what they hope will be breakthrough performances in the months ahead.

We look forward to cheering them on as they take to the start line and continue their journey towards Brisbane 2032.

Every medal won, every Australian team selection and every international debut is made possible through the unwavering support of our Grow for Gold partners.

Your investment is about much more than funding competition. It provides athletes with the opportunity to train, travel, gain invaluable international experience and pursue their Olympic and Paralympic dreams with confidence.

With Brisbane 2032 now just six years away, the future of the Grow for Gold program has never been brighter. We look forward to sharing more success stories as our athletes continue to represent the Gold Coast and Australia on the world stage.

Thank you for believing in their potential. Together, we’re helping build the next generation of Olympians and Paralympians.
