Dear Members, Partners and Friends,
As we move further into 2026, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the role you continue to play in shaping the future of sport on the Gold Coast.
It has been an incredibly exciting few months for Sports Gold Coast. Every conversation, partnership and event reinforces what we have always known: our city has one of the strongest sporting communities in Australia. With Brisbane 2032 now just six years away, the opportunities in front of us have never been greater.
Our focus remains clear: connecting the sporting industry, advocating for our sector and creating opportunities that strengthen sport across every level of our Gold Coast Community.
You may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter than usual over the past few months, and that has been entirely intentional.
This period has given us the opportunity to step back, listen, reflect and reset. We’ve taken a fresh look at our purpose, challenged ourselves to think differently and developed a clear vision for the next chapter of Sports Gold Coast. With new perspectives, renewed energy and a strategic focus, we are positioning the organisation to deliver greater value than ever before.
While much of this work has happened behind the scenes, it has been some of the most important work we’ve undertaken. We have been strengthening relationships with government, business leaders, sporting organisations and key stakeholders, identifying where we can have the greatest impact, and ensuring Sports Gold Coast is well positioned to lead meaningful conversations as we build towards Brisbane 2032.
One thing has become increasingly clear throughout this process: our role extends far beyond hosting events.
We are here to bring people together. To advocate for our sporting community. To connect business with sport. To celebrate excellence. To create opportunities that help organisations grow, athletes thrive and our industry speak with a stronger, united voice.
That vision has never been more important.
As one of Australia’s leading sporting cities, the Gold Coast is entering a defining period. Brisbane 2032 presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to strengthen our sporting ecosystem, attract investment, grow participation, support volunteers, develop future leaders and ensure the benefits of the Games extend well beyond 2032. Sports Gold Coast is committed to ensuring our members are at the centre of that legacy.
The months ahead mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Sports Gold Coast.
You will see a renewed focus on delivering exceptional value to our members through meaningful networking opportunities, thought leadership events, industry advocacy and strategic partnerships that create genuine outcomes for our sporting community.
We will continue to grow our Grow for Gold program, bringing local businesses and philanthropists together to support the next generation of Olympic and Paralympic athletes. We will also continue celebrating the people who make our sporting community extraordinary through the Gold Coast Sports Awards while creating new opportunities for members to connect, collaborate and do business together.
Most importantly, we will continue listening.
The future of Sports Gold Coast will be shaped by the needs of our members and the broader sporting community. We want to be an organisation that not only represents the industry but actively helps shape it, bringing people together, championing new ideas and creating opportunities that leave a lasting impact.
While we have spent the past few months laying the foundations, we are incredibly excited to begin bringing that vision to life.
On behalf of our Board and team, thank you for your continued support, trust and belief in Sports Gold Coast.
Whether you are a member, partner, volunteer, sporting organisation, business leader or supporter, you are helping build something much bigger than any one event or initiative. Together, we are creating a stronger, more connected sporting community and ensuring the Gold Coast is ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
The best chapter of Sports Gold Coast is still to come, and I am incredibly excited to share that journey with you.
Warm regards,

Danika Goodman
