Gold Coast United Celebrate A Hugely Successful 2019 Season

Sep 18, 2019 | SOCCER

Gold Coast United came together last Friday to celebrate the achievements of everyone involved with the club, on and off the field, over the course of the 2019 season.

The annual presentation evening was held at the RACV Royal Pines Resort and acknowledged the work of United’s dedicated players, parents and supporters, as well as the support of the valued sponsors, volunteers and Board members.

The GC United Gala Evening celebrated the efforts of all involved, from our juniors through to our senior teams, coaches and volunteers

In a year that saw GC United go from strength to strength on the field, with a multitude of teams still in contention for premierships, as well as fantastic achievements by both the Men’s and Women’s NPL sides, picking award winners was never going to be an easy task.

But no one could argue the selections of two of the club’s greatest leaders and talents as the respective men’s and women’s player of the year, with club stalwart Michael Thwaite taking out the award for the Men, and Captain Ellie Fryer taking the top gong for the Women.

In a great thrill for Sports Gold Coast, Chairman Geoff Smith was invited to present the Golden Boot Award to the respective male and female winners in Brandon Reeves and Deeanna Thompson.

SGC has been an incredibly vocal supporter of the United club model since helping to re-establish the club over the last couple of years, and to see the calibre of players, supporters and achievements across the gala evening is something our organisation is very proud to be involved with.

The positive direction of the club is evidenced in the great support provided by all sponsors, with the likes of Orbitz Elevators coming on board this year, as well as the ongoing commitments of major sponsors: Bond University, Chempro, Letz Travel, Eximm, McLaughlins and Headline Media.

Sports Gold Coast is extremely excited to be involved as United continues to gain momentum as a club and can’t wait to see what next year holds!
