The Gold Coast’s sporting community is preparing to come together once again for one of the city’s longest-running celebrations of sporting excellence — the 58th Gold Coast Sports Awards.
Presented by Sports Gold Coast, the Awards will return to The Star Gold Coast on Friday, 26 February 2027, bringing together athletes, sporting organisations, volunteers, business leaders and supporters to recognise the people and moments that continue to shape sport across our city.
For almost six decades, the Gold Coast Sports Awards have celebrated achievement at every level — from emerging athletes and grassroots volunteers to world-class competitors representing the Gold Coast on the national and international stage.
Celebrating a City Built on Sport
Sport is an important part of the Gold Coast’s identity.
Behind every medal, championship and major sporting moment is a much bigger network of people — coaches, volunteers, clubs, families, officials, administrators, businesses and supporters who help make those achievements possible.
The Gold Coast Sports Awards provide an opportunity to recognise that entire sporting ecosystem.
Following a memorable 57th Awards, which brought together more than 500 members of the Gold Coast sporting and business communities, the 58th edition will once again celebrate the achievements, stories and contributions that have defined another remarkable year of sport on the Gold Coast.
Last year’s recipients included some of the city’s most recognised sporting names and organisations, including Matt Rowell, Alexa Leary, Arisa Trew, Kai Sakakibara, the ASICS Gold Coast Marathon and Southport Sharks, alongside community volunteers and contributors whose work continues to strengthen sport across the region.
Nominations Are Open
Sports Gold Coast is now calling on the community to help identify the people, teams, clubs and sporting moments deserving of recognition at the 58th Gold Coast Sports Awards.
Nominations are open to the wider Gold Coast community, with sporting clubs, associations, schools, coaches, athletes, families and supporters encouraged to put forward deserving nominees.
The 2026 Awards will recognise excellence across a range of areas, including elite and junior athletic performance, para-sport, volunteering, community contribution, sporting events and the people and organisations making an impact on Gold Coast sport.
Nominations close Friday, 20 November 2026, with finalists to be announced in January ahead of the Awards Gala in February.
More Than One Night
While the Awards culminate in a major celebration at The Star Gold Coast, their purpose extends well beyond the Gala Dinner.
The Awards provide a platform to tell the stories of Gold Coast sport, create stronger connections between sport and business, and recognise the people whose contributions can often happen away from the spotlight.
As the Gold Coast continues towards Brisbane 2032, celebrating and supporting the people building our sporting community today has never been more important.
The 58th Gold Coast Sports Awards will be an opportunity to recognise where we have come from, celebrate the achievements happening now and showcase the people helping shape the next chapter of Gold Coast sport.
