Sports Gold Coast (SGC) is excited to announce its valued new partnership with not-for-profit health fund, Westfund Health Insurance.
Westfund join SGC as Foundation Partners, providing much needed support to the development and longevity of our city’s sporting culture through helping to fund SGC’s many projects and initiatives.
The partnership will aid the ongoing success of already well-established projects like Gold Coast United FC, as well as newer initiatives with rugby, netball and e-Sports.
Much like Sports Gold Coast, Westfund was built on solid community values and a foundation of trust. The Health Insurer is proudly not-for-profit and honoured to be trusted with looking after the health of their 117,000 members.
It is their great history of community dedication that aligns closely with SGC’s own values, a fact that Chairman Geoff Smith believes makes the partnership even more special for both parties in supporting a united vision for sport on the Coast.
“As an organisation we pride ourselves on aligning with like-minded corporates who genuinely care about bettering their local community and growing sport in our city” said Mr Smith.
“Westfund understands the long-term beneficial impact of aiding our vision for the entire Gold Coast sporting community.
“Sports Gold Coast is very excited to work closely with Westfund as we strive for a vibrant sporting culture in our city at all levels, from community to elite.”
While Westfund’s financial commitment will help fund a range of projects, there is a particular focus on supporting SGC’s flagship football project, Gold Coast United FC, and the club’s sustainable model of “building from the grassroots up”.
With the help of dedicated and visionary corporates like Westfund, SGC and Gold Coast United FC have built the foundations of an extremely success club over the course of only a few years.
This fact is highlighted by United’s $11 Million home ground facility at Coplicks and a 500 plus playing group of men, women, boys and girls.
Westfund’s commitment to SGC will go towards further development of the United club, improving player experience, facilities and the growth of the game.
With Westfund boasting over 60 years of industry experience, SGC hopes to draw on the strong community ties and values the health insurer embodies, in our own work.
