Grow for Gold athlete Ashley Bryden has delivered a standout performance on the national stage, claiming first place in the women’s PTVI B2/B3 category at the Australian Para Triathlon Championships, held as part of Race 3 of the 2XU Triathlon Series in St Kilda, Victoria, on Sunday.
Racing in cold, blustery conditions along the iconic St Kilda foreshore, Bryden and her guide Felicity produced a commanding and composed race, working seamlessly across the swim, bike and run to take the national crown in a winning time of 1:24:32. Their performance stood out in a Championships that featured the largest National Para Championship field seen in many years, with 24 para and intellectually impaired athletes competing across multiple classifications.
Bryden’s win reflects not only her physical strength and race-day execution, but also the trust, communication and teamwork that defines para triathlon at its highest level. Her success marks a major milestone in her journey and reinforces her status as one of Australia’s leading PTVI athletes.
With strong performances across all classifications and a growing depth of talent on the start line, the Australian Para Triathlon Championships highlighted the rapid momentum within the sport. As Australia builds toward the LA28 and Brisbane 2032 Paralympic cycles, athletes like Ashley Bryden are leading the way and inspiring the next generation.
