Every Body Moves: Bringing Inclusive Sport to the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast community is invited to come together for a celebration of inclusive sport, as Every Body Moves arrives in Carrara on Sunday, 18 October 2026.

Delivered by Disability Sports Australia and Gold Coast Rec and Sport, Every Body Moves is a free community event designed to make sport more accessible, encourage participation and celebrate the opportunities that physical activity creates for people of all ages and abilities.

Taking place at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, the event will bring together individuals, families, local sporting organisations and community groups for a morning of activities, connection and fun.

Presented by Bupa through its Healthy Cities initiative, with support from Gold Coast Recreation and Sport, the event aims to break down barriers to participation by creating a welcoming environment where everyone can discover the benefits of being active.

Participants will have the opportunity to experience a range of sporting activities, connect with local clubs and organisations, and explore pathways to becoming more involved in sport, whether recreationally or competitively.

For some, it may be an opportunity to try something new. For others, it could be the first step towards joining a local sporting club, building confidence or finding a community through sport.

Sport plays an important role in bringing people together, strengthening communities and creating a sense of belonging. However, barriers to accessibility and participation continue to prevent many people living with disability from enjoying these opportunities.

Initiatives such as Every Body Moves are helping to change this by demonstrating that sport can be adapted, inclusive and enjoyed by everyone, regardless of ability or experience.

As the Gold Coast looks ahead to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, creating more inclusive sporting opportunities remains an important part of building a strong and connected sporting community.

Sports Gold Coast recognises the important role initiatives like Every Body Moves play in strengthening grassroots participation and ensuring that opportunities to experience the benefits of sport are available to all.

By connecting individuals with local sporting organisations and encouraging greater participation, events like this help create meaningful pathways for people to remain active, build relationships and feel part of the Gold Coast sporting community.
