Either as participants or spectators, we have all experienced and enjoyed the euphoria generated by achievements in sport. 

At international level, sport evokes an unmatched sense of pride and satisfaction. Apart from the health, social and economic benefits sport brings to a society, above all it inspires our young people to be better, building resilience and hope. 

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Gold Coast was represented by 49 athletes, who secured an incredible eight gold medals for Australia. At the Paralympic Games, our athletes won 3 gold medals while inspiring the nation with their determination. 

Sport unites and strengthens our community. The dedication of our sports people, administrators, and volunteers, whether on a local fields or world stages, has helped shape the Gold Coast as a hub of sporting excellence. 

The 56th Annual Gold Coast Sports Awards celebrates the hard work, dedication and achievements of our sports people at all levels, from grassroots to elite level.

WHO IS IN THE ROOM

A top-class gala dinner, the Sports Star of the Year Awards are attended by sportspeople, athletes and sporting clubs, along with local individuals and teams who are participating at international, national, state, regional and local competition levels.

Many representatives of the local and state media will be in the room, along with members from all levels of government.
