Community sport thrives on the dedication of our volunteers who work behind the scenes to make events, clubs, and programs successful.
The Junior Volunteer of the Year award, proudly presented by Eximm Sport, honours individuals who under 18 years of age who devote their time and energy to supporting local sports clubs, community events, and grassroots initiatives. Whether they’re running water, organising jerseys, or providing essential support to our coaching staff and players, these kids are the unsung heroes who help bring sport to life in the community.
This award recognises their invaluable contributions and the positive impact they have on local sport that often get overlooked.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this award, nominees must meet the general eligibility requirements:
- Nominees must be aged between 12 and 18 years.
- Nominees must have volunteered within the past 12 months in a sport-related capacity, such as assisting in coaching, organising events, or supporting community sports programs.
- The nominee’s volunteer work should have had a measurable positive impact on the sporting community, demonstrated through increased participation, improved event organisation, or enhanced community spirit.
JUDGING CRITERIA
- Contribution to the Community: The extent to which the nominee’s volunteer work has benefited the local sporting community, including the number of people impacted and the overall enhancement of the sporting environment.
- Innovation and Initiative: The nominee’s ability to think creatively and take the initiative in their volunteer role, including proposing and implementing new ideas or solutions that have led to positive changes.
- Leadership and Teamwork: The nominee’s ability to lead by example, inspire others, and work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Personal Growth: How the nominee’s volunteer experience has contributed to their personal development, including any skills gained, challenges overcome, and lessons learned.
- Endorsements: Testimonials or references from coaches, community members, or peers that highlight the nominee’s contributions and character.
