WHY NOMINATE?
Each year, the Gold Coast Sports Awards celebrates the passion, dedication, and achievements of individuals and teams who contribute to making the Gold Coast a hub of sporting excellence. Whether it’s through sporting success, community engagement, or innovation, your nomination will help us recognise those who inspire and shape the future of sport in our region.

- Nominations Open: 15th October 2024
- Nominations Close: 15th December 2024
- Finalists Announced: 15th January 2025
- Awards Ceremony: 1st of March 2025
HOW TO NOMINATE?
1. Choose your category
Review the award categories below and select the one that best fits the individual or organisation you wish to nominate.
2. Fill out Nomination Form
Fill in the appropriate Nomination Form with all relevant details, including why your nominee deserves recognition.
3. Submit your Entry
Be sure to submit your completed nomination by 15th of December.
4. Spread the word!
Once you’ve submitted your nomination, help us amplify the excitement! Share your nomination on social media and tag us @sportsgoldcoast so we can celebrate your journey and spread the word!
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this award, nominees must meet the following criteria:
- The event must have taken place in the Gold Coast region within the past 12 months.
- The event can be any type of sporting event, including tournaments, championships, community sporting events, or sports exhibitions.
- The event must have complied with all relevant laws and safety regulations.
- The event must demonstrate a positive impact on the Gold Coast community, promoting participation, engagement, and growth in sports.
- Enhance the Gold Coast sporting industry
JUDGING CRITERIA
- Event Planning and Organisation: The degree to which the event was well-planned and executed, including coordination of resources, time management, and volunteer involvement.
- Innovation and Uniqueness: Creative approaches to the event that set it apart from others, including new ideas, technologies, or activities that engaged participants and spectators.
- Community Engagement and Participation: The level of participation from the community and the event’s ability to involve a diverse group of people, enhancing inclusivity and local support.
- Promotion and Media Impact: The effectiveness of promotional efforts, including media coverage, social media engagement, and marketing strategies that increased visibility.
- Legacy and Long-term Impact: The lasting impact of the event, including any positive outcomes such as increased sports participation, improved facilities, or strengthened community connections.
- Athlete experience: Athlete environment to foster world class results, athlete facilities (warm-up/warm down facilities, field of play facilities) and International/National/State Sporting Organisation endorsement.
- Accessibility:Creating an event framework that supports the involvement of para-athletes and individuals across all abilities.
